"This is a post for those of you running a EJ conversion and a stock VW trans.. The issue I had with this set up was highway RPMs, I was driving 110km/h with an RPM over 4K. This worried me, I understand subaru engines like higher RPMs but I was concerned about engine and trans longevity, especially with my upcoming travels… Anyways, as a solution I sourced a 2004 automatic 4EAT Subaru transmission. And here is the outcome.. ⬇️ And that’s a wrap! Managed to source a reverse transmission kit for a 4EAT trans in North America! Fast shipping, quality parts and a one piece chain.. couldn’t be happier. The kit cost 2000USD if anyone is interested, check out Specialisedparts.com. The owner (kuks) went above and beyond to help me achieve my goal. The kit was very simple to install, with time and patience, anyone can do it. Now it’s time to slap this transmission In my ’85 westy and hit the open road (with lower RPMS) 😎 Side note- I will make a follow up post once the trans is installed and functioning! Cheers"
